The entire process took about 3.5-4 hours. Also, the first update listed, KB3050265, is a blocker for Win10 garbage. been to a ton of other web pages including microsoft solutions and this (Solution 1) was the only one that worked - following clean re-install of Windows 7. I let it install the 7 or so updates, then powered it back up. I cannot access the Server. btw, the KBs listed in the post above are all for Windows Update Client, last one being the latest.

Hans A Did what was suggested in the article and it worked for me to. I just want to windows update so my computer can work normally. The f keys do not work!

Disconnect from the internet. Step 2 and Step 3 did not work for me (even when downloading the correct file in step 2, it says that it isn't applicable for my version of windows, and it took about 15 minutes or so to come up but it did eventually. Microsoft needs to get their act together. Since you have many systems stuck on this error I would suggest you download the Convenience rollup update for Windows 7 SP1.
