I do not have the "turn off autoplay" item in gpedit.msc. I'll see and let you know. (i already had a problem with the app notification option was desactivated in the setting menu, the GPO for the app notification was not configured, I recently had to do just that and the good thing is that it was fixed and it works fine. Keep repeating this until you've gone all the way through the 'tree' at the left, stopping each time to check on the answers coded in the right hand side.

I have tried on three seperate XP machines (including a fresh install of Windows - where EVERYTHING is still at its default settings).
