I don’t think the SSD is the problem though. If it boots fine with one drive and not with two, you’re probably overloading the power supply. So, your 300 GB hard drive will show up in Windows as a 279 GB hard drive. This should resolve the issue. Hitachi's Feature tool was crashing when trying to enter Capacity menu, but this little great tool restored disk back to useable state and data is safe! I tried every possibe HDD Utility (boot sector editors etc.) but i was unable to see the whole 1Tb. Question is.. That seemed to get rid of DDO, yet the BIOS still said the drive was only ~32 GB. Another thing that can be said is that after setting the SATA's to AHCI, the hard drive is no longer found in the BIOS, if that means anything. After a power cycle all the partitions came back with the data intact. Was willing to do some soldering after some practice to move EEPROM from patient to donor. Trying to make this work in a WinPE environment without any luck. It worked perfectly. Top N.C. Bought a brand new Seagate Barracuda 500Gb PATA drive and after playing around with it, the drive became a 137Gb drive.
