It might make sense to look into a fan controller than adjusts the fan speed based on temperature. Look hereI have always felt that cooler is better. The harddrive is about 4 years old. Need advice! check over here

A Solid State Drive (SSD) with no moving parts has a much greater operating temperature range, as low as -55 degrees Celsius (-67 degrees Fahrenheit). I know that the article says the ideal temps are 36-47°C but I'm thinking that I want to be under 40°C.
